Thanks for the Books!

It was a stormy day, but those dark clouds in the sky showed their silver linings as so many of you arrived at RJ Julia Booksellers on Friday, June 26, with arms, boxes and bags loaded with books to support Read to Grow's book drive.
 
Thanks to you, we collected more than 800 books during the day---over 100 books an hour---and several dozen were dropped off at the bookstore afterwards! All your donated books are finding new homes now, giving hundreds of children the chance to experience the joys of reading and book ownership.
 
Here at Read to Grow, we say "Every day is a book drive day" so if you have new or gently used books to donate, call us at 203-488-6800, Monday through Thursday, from 9:30 am to 5 pm. We've had a dramatic increase in the number of families requesting books over the past few months, especially for children three and under, though we always need books for older youngsters, too.
