Opening Doors in Fairfield County
2/12/2010
Read to Grow has a strong presence in Fairfield county, with Books for Babies programs operating in both Bridgeport hospitals and thousands of new and gently used books distributed annually to children in communities from Shelton and Stratford to Norwalk and Stamford.
With need and demand for our services increasing, Read to Grow is reaching out to donors and volunteers to expand local involvement. A Fairfield County advisory group recently was launched at a meeting with RTG founder Roxanne Coady, held at the Westport home of Belinda Bralver. Residents from across the county shared their ideas with Coady and Read to Grow staff on ways to support service expansion to meet rising needs.
The meeting resulted in volunteers for the Books for Babies program, organization of book drives at schools and churches, recommendations for book drop locations in Fairfield county and planning for organizational alliances.
