Run a Book Drive

Hosting a book drive or setting up a collection site at your school or place of business serves children, promotes early literacy, and encourages families to read. Our programs depend upon donations of books from our Connecticut communities, and we need your help!
Book drives can be run by community groups of all sizes and types, and book collections can be arranged in community centers, businesses, gyms---any place where people congregate and a box for book donations can be set up. Please consider collecting books to support our work.
If you plan to run a book drive, please click here and complete our info form.
Read to Grow will assist you with your Book Drive in several ways. We will:
- Provide a Book Drive Tool Kit to help you get started. Download our BOOK DRIVE TOOL KIT.
- Answer any questions you may have.
- Provide posters for your Book Drive. You may download a sample of our poster here.
- Arrange for a visit from a Read to Grow representative to make a presentation if necessary.
- Pick up the books at the end of the Book Drive.
- Publicize the book drive, where and when it's appropriate. You can provide us with a photo or two for either pre- or post-event publicity. Download and complete a release of information to go along with any photos you send us, so we'll have your permission to use the photo(s) in our printed matierials and on our website. Click on permission.pdf.
