Volunteer Opportunities
Current volunteer openings: Read to Grow has a variety of volunteer opportunities available that are personally satisfying and invaluable in furthering the mission of our organization.
-
Data entry volunteers
Data entry volunteers input survey and related data to assist us in assessing the impact of our Books for Babies and Books for Kids programs on literacy development in infants, toddlers and children. In a friendly and supportive environment, volunteers help our organization ensure that its efforts are having the positive impact it intends. Volunteers need to be detail-oriented and comfortable at a keyboard. We are looking for a commitment of a few hours each week. Training will be provided.
If you are interested in this endeavor, please fill out a Volunteer application, and we will follow up by contacting you. If you would like to know more about this volunteer opportunity, please give us a call at 203-488-6800 or email us at readtogrow@readtogrow.org. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Books for Babies hospital volunteers We are always looking for additional volunteers who are interested in becoming Books for Babies volunteers. Books for Babies volunteers play a key role in our program by visiting hospital rooms on the maternity units of our partner hospitals to talk with families of newborns about early literacy. Opportunities are available in the Hartford, New Haven, New London and Bridgeport areas. Training is provided by Read to Grow staff and potential volunteers are required to fulfill the particular hospital's requirements for volunteering, including adherence to hospital policies. For information on this important and rewarding experience, please call Read to Grow at 203-488-6800 and ask to speak to Priscilla Russo, Books for Babies Coordinator.
